Why Practice This Drill
Test how well your cue action is working.
Pick A Game
Beginner: Practice for 10 minutes.
Club player: Practice for 15 minutes and complete the drill on all 6 pockets (6 successful straight long pots).
Pro: Practice for 15 minutes and pot two balls into each pocket without missing.
Long Straight Pots Steps
Step 1: Set Balls Up
Place red ball on blue spot, and white ball somewhere that needs a long straight pot.
Step 2: Play The Shot
Play the shot. If you make it, go onto another pocket. If you miss the pot, analyse why (see step 3).
Step 3: Analyse The Miss
If missing right, you’re putting right hand side on cue ball. If missing left, you’re putting left hand side on cue ball. To find out why you’re consistently missing, you may need to get a snooker coach to take a look at your technique.
